Catholic Health Initiatives for Uganda (CHIU) is ensuring an improved and maintained Health Care for the rural Catholic health centers and hospitals in Uganda.
CHIU is a group of people of like minds and healthcare interests living in the United States working to raise awareness and improve infrastructure and conditions through Catholic healthcare facilities in rural Uganda. We create improved water systems for increased sanitation, implement solar power to save on energy costs, and provide up-to-date medical equipment.
At CHIU, we create awareness and raise funds in the US to support our mission and orchestrate service trips of volunteers and medical personnel who travel to Uganda one to two times per year. These groups bring supplies, work on infrastructure, and educate local communities about guarding against infections and prevention of diseases, as well as helping organize medical care.
